The Devonport Hotel is a country house hotel run as a family business by Julia Ellwood the proprietorand Chris Mills company secretary.Julia is well known in the area with over 27 years experience in catering management. The couple took over the hotel in June 2004 and have created a beautiful development of 16 bedrooms all of which are en suite.There is a top class fine dining restaurant for both residents and public use.An accompanying lounge bar provides further high class bar food to go with cask ales and an extensive choice of wine liqueurs and spirits.In addition there is a locals bar with the same range of food and drink with TV. There are also outdoor tables on the front overlooking the River Tees and beautiful unspoilt countryside and at the rear there is a substantial sized patio area.The Devonport Hotel underwent a comprehensive refurbishment programme during 2004 upgrading all bedrooms converting the restaurant with an exclusive design change adding beautiful furniture and also completely re-building the kitchen adding full modern facilities to produce the best cuisine.Country House Hotel on the banks of the River Tees. 1 mile to Durham Tees Valley airport. 2 miles to Darlington town centre. 5 miles to Croft autodrome. 1 mile to Darlington football stadium. 7 miles to the picturesque town of Yarm. 4 golf courses within a 5 mile radius.
