We offer all our guests our fantastic choice of breakfast including cooked and continental options with our compliments. Sherborne is ideal for discovering Hardy's Wessex countryside and within the town itself houses a historic Castle and Abbey to explore. Within a short drive are the famous Gold Hill in Shaftesbury and Stourhead House and Gardens as well as the many picturesque thatched roof village in the surrounding area.The heart and soul of the hotel remains the pub itself a traditional inn full of character and situated in the heart of the town. Food is served all day and the varied menu includes sandwiches and snacks as well as hearty pub meals. We also have a fantastic selection of drinks including cask ales and a range of wines.

The Britannia Inn is an 18th century building that was originally a school house for girls opened in 1743 and funded by the then Lord Digby. A character structure this two bar operation is located but a stones throw from Sherborne Abbey and only five minutes walk from the station.There are other local attractions found in this historic town such as Sherborne House the home of Lord Digby Sherborne Castle former home of Sir Walter Raleigh as well as many which are within an hours journey such as Shaftesbury the Cerne Abbas Giant Dorchester and Shepton Mallet. Wincanton Racecourse is just half an hour away and we can arrange transport for you should you wish to make a day of it and spend your wiinings on a celebratary drink or two!We offer a choice of rooms double family and single and provide a hearty English Breakfast to set you up for the day ahead. After your day you can relax with a drink from our choice of ales wines and soft drinks and enjoy some traditional pub food between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
